Ryan Greene is the Texas Campus Director for Aquatic Therapy University as well as the founder or Pisces Aquatic Services. He has been providing Aquatic Therapy in the Houston area for nearly 10 years, since 2007 and has played a major role in bringing aquatic therapy continuing education seminars more frequently to Texas since 2014. Ryan graduated from Southern University in 2004 with a Bachelors degree and became a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. After moving to Texas from Louisiana, he has been providing home and community based therapy services for individuals with disabilities ranging from Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Autism, and a number of other disabling conditions. Ryan currently serves as a leading Recreational & Aquatic Therapist for Scoggins Therapies.

Ryan has experience with working in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. His impact was so significant that on the last day as an intern at the outpatient facility called Synergy, dozens of psychiatric individuals started and signed a petition for him to be hired or they would stop attending. Needless to say, the administrator provided him with employment papers by the end of that day.

Ryan helped a new inpatient psychiatric facility in Bogalusa, Louisiana called Magnolia Behavioral Healthcare by serving as a Recreational Therapist,  developed the daily multidisciplinary schedule for patients and also served as the Nonviolent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Instructor, ensuring that all staff were properly trained.

Ryan whole-heartedly enjoys providing continuing education opportunities to fellow allied health therapists. He also loves the water and is a Pisces, therefore is the reason he founded Pisces Aquatic Services. In 2017, Ryan joined forces with Inertia Therapy Services to host the 2018 Halliwick Aquatic Therapy/Water Specific Therapy certification course in Houston, Texas. This certification course only comes to the U.S. once every two years, and has not been in Houston in 10 years.

Peggy Schoedinger, PT, has taught over 600 seminars across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. She teaches a full range of over 40 Aquatic Therapy and Aquatic Bodywork topics and techniques including Watsu®, Bad Ragaz Ring Method®, Rehabilitation Applications of the Halliwick® Concept, Trunk Stabilization, Aquatic Sensory Integration, and Aquatic Manual Therapy Mobilization Techniques for Joints & Soft Tissue.

Peggy created and developed Clinical Watsu® and Watsu® 3: Free Flow Adapted For Clients With Special Needs. She is the only physical therapist in the world who is a certified Watsu instructor for Watsu® 1, 2 and 3. She is one of only four instructors internationally who is qualified to train and certify other Watsu® instructors.

Peggy travels extensively every year to teach. Her frequent international trips allow her to stay abreast with the latest techniques and information from around the globe.

Peggy blends the best of East and West into her classes. She seeks to create a supportive and joyful environment where each student is able to explore his or her unique Watsu® gifts.

Stacy graduated from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas–getting his Associate of Arts and an Associate of Applied Science in the Physical Therapist Assistant program. He has also been a Certified Personal Trainer through the Texas Board of Physical Therapy since 2000. Stacy  is the founder and owner of Inertia Therapy Services, where he hopes to help make a difference in the healthcare industry in America. Stacy was the Organizing Chair for the 5th International Conference on Evidence Based Aquatic Therapy (ICEBAT US) in Las Vegas, NV in 2018.  He is currently working full time as the head aquatic therapist at Oakeson Physical Therapy in Peoria, Arizona.

Stacy has taken over 500 hours of continuing education in aquatic specialization. He has received certifications in Halliwick® Aquatic Therapy/Water Specific Therapy® (HAT/WST), The Bad Ragaz Ring Method® (BRRM), and Clinical Ai Chi® (CAC) through the International Aquatic Therapy Faculty (IATF). He became one of the first Aquaticists in America, and one the first Geriatric Aquaticist (GAq) in the world in 2013 through Aquatic Therapy University. He also works with Inertia Therapy Services to assist with the cultivation of aquatic programs into communities that have struggled with the concept. Stacy became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) in 2015. He received his Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification through the National Recreation and Parks Association in 2016. Stacy also became certified in LSVT BIG in 2017.
 

Stacy was integral to the first published case review on Aquatic Therapy and Alzheimer’s Disease. He continues to work with the development of Aquatic Programs for Residents with Dementia in the Long Term Community. Stacy is currently an international Presenter on the benefits of Aquatic Therapy. He is an international keynote speaker, presenting at the 2018 International Conference on Evidence Based Aquatic Therapy (ICEBAT) and also at the 2016 International AquaCongress in Santiago de Queratero, Mexico. Stacy has given presentations to the APTA in a national webinar sponsored by the Aquatics Section as well as to the Arizona Fall Conference of the APTA. Stacy gives presentations to various other medical organizations including the 2019 state conference for the Arizona Association of Activity Professionals (AAAP), and the West Valley Coalition on Aging (WVCOA). He has also been a featured guest on the “Successful Aging” radio show and “The Aging Boomers” podcast. 

Stacy feels the key to making a difference in the medical field is by always challenging yourself and others to think outside of the box and do things that have yet to only become a reality.

Johan was proud to be the first non-American aquatic physical therapy professional receiving the ‘Excellence in Aquatic Physical Therapy” award.
This award is for the Academy of Aquatic Physical Therapy to recognize exceptional research, exemplary dedication, and/or extraordinary contributions to the comprehensive field of aquatic therapy.
The intent of this award is to fulfill the Section’s commitment to the diverse aspects of aquatic therapy by recognizing those whose influence has driven this area of physical therapy.
Johan Lambeck, PT owns an Aquatic Therapy Consultancy. From 1979 – 1998 he was in charge of the Department of Aquatic Therapy in the Rehabilitation Centre Sint Maartenskliniek (Nijmegen, NL).
 
He is co-founder of the Halliwick Foundation, the International Halliwick Association (IHA) and the Association International Aquatic Therapy Faculty (IATF).
 
In 1998 he was named Aquatic Therapy Professional of the year in the USA. He has taught over 700 seminars on almost all topics in aquatic therapy.
 
He is the author or co-author of 4 books / CDRom’s, over 30 published articles and chapters in (peer reviewed) journals and books on aquatics and aquatic therapy.
 
In 2005, he joined the Cochrane Collaboration balneotherapy review group. Johan is affiliated as Free Research Associate to the Faculty of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences, KU Leuven, joining the EU Erasmus Aquaevidence/Aquaoutcome project.
 
His consultancy and teaching institute has clients in over 30 countries worldwide. As a knowledge broker, he tries to implement the existing eveidence in the daily practice of aquatic therapy.
  
Johan is the primary contact person for the Aquatic Physical Therapy International (APTI), a network affiliated to the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT).

BIO: Garry L. Killgore, M.S., Ph.D.

killgore 4 webDr. Killgore is the President and one of the founding partners of AQx. Killgore is a Full Professor and Academic Chair of Human Performance at Linfield College and earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics in 2003. He has published and presented on the biomechanics of running both on land and in water, prevention of running-related injuries and scientific concepts applied to coaching. His specialty is alternative training and rehabilitation for athletes. He was first certified as an American Red Cross lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor in 1980 and has held several aquatic-related positions with a variety of organizations. He was recently named the Linfield College “Edith Green Distinguished Professor” for 2010 and the 2008 College/University Physical Education Teacher of the Year for the State of Oregon.

Killgore has delivered presentations on water training and conditioning to a variety of audiences all over the U.S., most notably at the International Aquatic Fitness/AEA Conference, World Aquatic Health Conference, USA Track and Field Association’s national conference (Podium Project), and the NW Associations of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine and the National Athletic Training Association, as well as in England, Ireland, and Spain.
 
Killgore just completed his 21st year as Linfield College’s (NCAA III) Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field Coach. Killgore was named NCAA III Indoor and Outdoor T&F Men’s Coach of the Year and Women’s Coach of the Year for the West Region in 2007 and 2006 respectively, and the Indoor Track and Field Coach of the year in 2009 and 2010. He was also named the Northwest Conference Men’s T&F Coach of the Year in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, and 2007. In addition, he was named Women’s T&F Coach of the Year in 1993 and in 1996. Lastly, Killgore’s athletes have earned nine national titles, sixteen national runnersup, and over 96 all-american and 87 academic allamerican honors, a “National Field Event Athlete of the year for NCAA III T&F”, a NCAA Woman of the year award, as well as competed in the 1992 and 1996 Canadian Olympic Trials (PV) and the 1996 and 2000 US Olympic Trials (1500/800). He currently coaches Marci Gage, a US national and Olympic Trials qualifier in the marathon.
He has coached six national track champions 70 All-Americans and 34 Academic All-Americans. Killgore earned his Ph.D at oregon state in human performance (exercise physiology/ biomechanics) in 2003 and received his master’s degree in exercise science in 1989. He is a published author on biomechanics of running, prevention of running-related injuries and scientific concepts of coaching. His specialty is deep-water running or circuits. He is the founder of Aqx Sports (for hydrodynamic training).

Lynette completed her master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University. Her career has incorporated Occupational Therapy services into a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, psychosocial services, aquatic rehab, hand rehab, work hardening, and lymphedema.
 
Jamison served as the Director of Aquatics and Rehabilitation for 10 years at the Desert Pain Institute in Mesa, AZ. There, she consulted with the designers to develop the only peroxide therapy pool in the Mesa area. Lynette was the second recipient of the Aquatic Therapy & Rehab Institute (ATRI) Aquatic Therapy Professional of the Year Award.
 
Lynette has published the only commercially available aquatic therapy Policy & Procedure Manual, 2 aquatic therapy text books, “A Team Approach to Aquatic Rehabilitation” and “Aquatic Therapy Using PNF Patterns”, several chapters in other books, and numerous articles on lymphedema, Fibromyalgia, and aquatic therapy.
 
Lynette is certified by the Dr. Vodder School of North America to use Manual Lymph Drainage® to treat patients with lymphedema. She is now developing lymphedema treatment programs for Phoenix Baptist Hospital.

BIO: Kimberly Gordon, MPT

Kim 4 webKimberly graduated from Mayo Clinic’s School of Health Related Sciences with her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. She began practicing in an outpatient sports medicine clinic in Sarasota, FL where her case-load included orthopedic and post-surgical clients, including older adults with torn knee and ankle ligaments, total joint replacements, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and gait dysfunction. She went on to manage a branch for that company in Bradenton, FL. Upon moving back to Rochester, MN, she spent time working in a local nursing home, helping to develop their short term rehab program to increase the number of joint replacement patients in the facility and to better manage these patients as a team in the nursing home. She then moved into a home health physical therapy position, bringing innovative ideas to the patient returning from a hospital or nursing home stay after surgery or trauma, including many with new joint replacement patients.
 
She currently works at both the Rochester Active PT office and the Plainview ActivePT office (managing the Plainview office) where she specializes in treating orthopedic patients both in and out of the therapy pool. Her specialty is treating pelvic, hip and knee patients and the majority of her patients come with women’s health, orthopedic and sports medicine complaints.
 
Kim has over 11 years of treating primarily orthopedic patients with 7 of those years specializing in sports medicine. Kim also has over 500 hours of continuing education including SI joint dysfunction, Shoulder rehabilitation presented by Kevin Wilk, pelvic floor training through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Institute, a certification course in Pilates training and specializes in Pilates. She also teaches a Pilates class at the Rochester Athletic Club and has devoloped specialized classes for the athletic club including Back School, return to Pilates after rehabilitiation, and prenatal Pilates.
 
Kim’s area of specialty is the hip and pelvis. This includes pelvic floor dysfunction, low back and hip pain, total joint replacements, and SI dysfunction. Kim has been teaching for ATU across the country for over 5 years. She helped develop the “Aquatic Therapy for the Female Client” manual and has added content on Yoga and Pilates in the pool to several manuals. She teaches all of the adult classes, but specializes in the orthopedic courses.

BIO: Kathleen “Kiki” Dickinson, MPT

Kiki 4 webKiki graduated from St. Catherine University with a master’s degree in physical therapy. She is employed at St. Croix Therapy (Special Children Center) since 1995. Kiki is an adjunct professor at St. Catherine’s University since 2000, teaching the Pediatric Course for the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. She teaches custom seminars across the USA for Aquatic Therapy University with an emphasis on the neuro pediatric and adult populations. Kiki has a passion for volunteering (including at orphanages in China through Red Thread Charities). She has also created several manuals for Aquatic Therapy University.
